The XV80's variable speed blower motor is a "smart" motor that operates at a slower, more efficient speed the majority of the time. This means it's quieter than conventional blower motor, particularly during first stage or low heat operation. Variable speed also puts an end to temperature swings during the heating season, giving you a gentle, warm flow of air consistently and comfortably. This gentle airflow has another benefit. A
slower fan speed means more unwanted particles cling to the filter, so cleaner air flows into your home.
And, there's one more thing. If you have a Trane central air conditioner, our variable speed furnace will give you more comfort during the cooling season because of greater humidity control with out Comfort-R feature. During cooling, air moves over the coil more slowly at start-up resulting in increased moisture removal - a significant feature if you live where humidity is a problem.
